About Yellow Wood Coaching

Through my coaching practice I work with individuals who are looking to improve and optimize their goals and the pursuit of them related to financial matters.

While working in my corporate career I decided to make a strong effort to pursue a college degree in business and psychology. I found that as I progressed in my education I saw more and more opportunities to apply my learning in my life and through my work. The benefits of this are many, but one of the primary benefits has been the evolution of what I call my integrated financial philosophy. I began to form and reform my financial goals on obtaining what I determined to be most meaningful in life. I focused on value and on understanding money as a way to get and experience value in my life (as opposed to money itself being the value). I sought out information that would help me continuously grow and improve in my financial life and applied learnings where and when I could. And, I also shared my learnings with those near me to help them improve in their own goals and practices.

Yellow Wood Coaching is my practice where I work with individuals to build their own meaningful value goals, refine or redefine those that can use a tweak or a transformation, and partner with and support them as they plot and stay the course toward achieving their most meaningful outcomes. My approach is fueled by six core principles and the process spans seven stages. You can learn more on the specifics of these by choosing The IFC Process from the site menu.

The name Yellow Wood is a reference to a Robert Frost poem called The Road Not Taken. The opening line to the poem is "Two roads diverged in a yellow wood..." and the poem goes on to tell of the writer standing at a fork in the road and trying to determine which to take. Eventually he chooses and surmises that it "has made all the difference". We'll talk a lot about decisions and paths, you can't have planning without them, but significantly, the "yellow wood" in Frost's poem is the setting, the place that held the space for those decisions to be made.

Often, the best decisions are informed and considered, the options have been understood and weighed. At Yellow Wood Coaching the space for discussion and consideration is here, and so is the growth and development to continuously improve in your process. All choices carry consequences in some way, but when it comes to financial decisions and practices the outcomes can be especially impactful. For these and many other reasons, integrated financial coaching can be a great choice for you!
